FIRE CHIEF

The Waterford Regional Fire Department provides fire protection service to 131,000 residents in Waterford Township, the City of Lake Angelus and the City of Pontiac, covering 60 square miles.

The Waterford Regional Fire Department responds to more than 14,500 alarms annually, from fire calls, medical emergency, car accidents, hazardous materials and much more.

As you will see, we operate from 9 fire stations located in Waterford and Pontiac, with 8 fire engines, 2 aerial tower trucks, 5 paramedic rescues, an equipment/ladder truck and 2 command units.

The Waterford Regional Fire Department is very progressive in training and education for our firefighters. Through the Waterford EMS Academy, we provide public programs including CPR, First Aid, Basic EMT and other certifications. Additionally, we manage a High School Fire Cadet Program.

WRFD is a member of the Oakway Mutual Aid Group consisting of 10 career-staffed fire departments in Oakland County. Through Oakway we provide assistance with manpower for fire and EMS incidents, combined training, and fire service leadership in Hazmat and Tech Rescue training.
